United States Steel Corporation and Lone Star Technologies, Inc. have announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which U. S. Steel will acquire Lone Star, a leading manufacturer of welded oilfield tubular goods for approximately $2.1 billion.

Detroit Diesel has issued separate POWER GUARD Oil Specification 93K214, 93K215, and 93K218 Approved Oils Lists for Series 50, Series 60, MBE 900, and MBE 4000 Engines. These lists are for specific applications as described.

Mack has just revised its EO-O Premium Plus Engine Oil Listing of Approved Oils. The use of EO-O Premium Plus Engine Oil is mandatory for Mack 2007 emission compliant MP7 and all MP8 engines, and recommended for all other Mack diesel engines.

Ford Motor Company became the latest automobile manufacturer to revise its engine oil change guidelines, raising the recommended oil change interval from 5,000 miles to 7,500 on its newly redesigned 2007 year models and all subsequent redesigned or new models.

Dale Wells has been named President of Warren Unilube, Inc., a subsidiary of Warren Oil Company, Inc. of North Carolina. Mr. Wells will be responsible for all sales and operations of the West Memphis, Arkansas lubricant, chemical blending and packaging facility.
