ExxonMobil, Shell, CITGO and ConocoPhillips Announce Lube Price Increases
ExxonMobil announced that it would increase prices
by up to 9 percent for both Exxon and Mobil branded
and unbranded lubricants and greases, effective May
1, 2008 for both conventional and synthetic products.
Shell Lubricants, CITGO and ConocoPhillips have
also announced recent lube price increases. These
price increases in general amounted to anywhere
from 5% to 10%, or from $0.40 a gallon, or $0.05 a
pound, for conventional lubricants and up to $1.00 per
gallon for synthetic lubricants. Chevron had
announced a similar price increase back on February
18, 2008, effective March 20, 2008.

Detroit Diesel Adds More Oils to Its Power Guard Oil Specification 93K218 Approved Oil Lists
Detroit Diesel has revised its POWER GUARD Oil
Specification 93K218 Approved Oils List for use in
Series 50, Series 60, MBE 900, MBE 4000, and the
new DD15 engines. Specifically, the motor oils added
include a total of 15 motor oils marketed by
ExxonMobil, Valvoline, Sinopec, Castrol, United Oil,
Cross Oil, Shell, Comercial Importadora S.A. de C.V.,
Warren Oil and CITGO.
