International Becomes Second Engine Manufacturer to Say No to SCR

International Truck and Engine Corporation has announced that MaxxForce brand diesel engines will meet the stringent U.S. federal 2010 emissions standards for all its core applications without the use of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems. Last month, Cummins also announced it would not adopt SCR, which is the technology of choice for meeting emissions regulations in Europe.

Detroit Diesel Revises Its Power Guard Oil Specification 93K218 Approved Oils List

Detroit Diesel has revised its POWER GUARD Oil Specification 93K218 Approved Oils List for use in Series 50, Series 60, MBE 900, MBE 4000, and the new DD15 engines. Specifically, the motor oils added include oils marketed by Chevron Global Lubricants (Caltex brand), Shell International Petroleum Corporation, Gulf Oil International, and Mobil Branded Lubricants, ExxonMobil Corp.

Shell Lubricants Introduces Shell MalleusŪ GL Grease

Shell Lubricants has introduced a family of premium quality, high-performance greases ideally suited for mining and excavating equipment called Shell MalleusŪ. This family of products consists of two formulations, Shell MalleusŪ GL and Shell MalleusŪ OGM. Both formulations are specially developed for the lubrication and protection of open gears and wire ropes subjected to extreme load and temperatures.
