After nearly five years and $1.5 billion in development, the new heavy-duty Detroit Diesel DD15 engine was unveiled this past Friday at the Detroit Diesel plant in Detroit, Michigan, as the new Heavy-Duty Engine Platform (HDEP) of the future. Daimler will use the DD15 engine, which offers up to 560 horsepower, as the basis for engines that will be used in future truck models for sale in Asia and Europe.

After the merger, the business will continue to be conducted under the Houghton International name and no immediate changes are anticipate in its facilities, employment or products and services offered.
