Detroit Diesel DD15 Global Engine of the Future Unveiled
After nearly five years and $1.5 billion in development,
the new heavy-duty Detroit Diesel DD15 engine was
unveiled this past Friday at the Detroit Diesel plant in
Detroit, Michigan, as the new Heavy-Duty Engine
Platform (HDEP) of the future. Daimler will use the
DD15 engine, which offers up to 560 horsepower, as
the basis for engines that will be used in future truck
models for sale in Asia and Europe.

approved lubricants, lubrication intervals and
specifications, and lubricant troubleshooting.

Houghton International to Merge With AEA Affiliate
Houghton International Inc. has agreed to merge with
a newly formed affiliate of AEA Investors LLC. After the
merger, the business will continue to be conducted
under the Houghton International name and no
immediate changes are anticipate in its facilities,
employment or products and services offered. AEA is
an international private equity investment firm with
offices in New York, London and Hong Kong.

Alameda-Contra Costa Transit and Chevron Launch Pilot Program to Test Alternative Fuels
The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District (AC
Transit) and Chevron Products Company have
launched the Cleaner Fuels Test Program, which will
study two alternative fuels, a biodiesel fuel blend and
GTL (gas-to-liquids) diesel, in a fleet of buses
traveling Bay Area roadways.
