Safeway Announces B20 Biodiesel Use Throughout Entire Truck Fleet
Safeway, one of the nation's largest food and drug
retailers will be fueling its entire U.S. truck fleet with
cleaner-burning biodiesel. Safeway, Inc. made the
announcement this past Thursday as part of the
company's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Initiative. The
company will use B20, a blend of 20 percent biodiesel
and 80 percent diesel, in its fleet of more than 1,000
trucks.

Solutia Introduces New 325 Degree Celsius Synthetic Heat Transfer Fluid Therminol 62
Solutia Inc. has introduced Therminol 62, the newest
addition to the Therminol heat transfer fluid family.
Therminol 62 is a first-intent heat transfer fluid whose
chemistry is custom contoured for high-performance,
high-purity, low-pressure and exceptional thermal
stability to 325 degrees C (620 degrees F).

First Year of "2 Million Mile Haul" Biodiesel Study Shows Comparable Results vs. 100% Diesel Fuel
The Iowa Soybean Association has partnered with
Decker Truck Line Inc., Caterpillar Inc., and others in a
unique field study to examine the benefits of a 20
percent soy biodiesel blend (B20) in an over-the-road
trucking company. First-year results of the study have
shown that biodiesel performs similarly to diesel fuel
in trucks. The study is believed to be the first
comprehensive, publicly documented demonstration
of B20 in over-the-road trucks.

AxleTech International to Enter On-Highway Vehicle Aftermarket
AxleTech International, a global manufacturer of axles,
suspensions, brakes and aftermarket parts for off-
highway vehicles, has announced it will begin
producing original equipment aftermarket products for
on-highway commercial and specialty vehicle needs.
Products include a broad selection of axle, driveline,
brake and wheelend products. The initial targeted
applications include heavy truck, bus and coach as
well as specialty vehicles. A Carlyle Group-owned
company, AxleTech has its origins as the off-highway
division of former Rockwell International.
